The Commerce and Industry Minister of India, Piyush Goyal, recently said that India is considering negotiating a Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) with Oman. He was speaking at the 10th Meeting of the India-Oman Joint Business Council in New Delhi. The Minister stressed the need for a significant increase in business to business engagement between India and Oman.
India and Oman are likely to tap into their trade potential in the near future, the Minister said. Mr Goyal urged the India-Oman Joint Business Council to support bilateral ties between the two countries. It is the businesses that must demonstrate how eager they are to work together, whether in the food industry or startup ecosystem. He said young entrepreneurs in Oman will be excited if opportunities in India’s startup world open up.
