Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) and UNICEF signed an agreement whereby the Kuwaiti Fund will give an additional grant worth $340,000 as a contribution to financing a water project in Gaza Strip. KFAED said in a statement that the project aims to provide water for more than 280,000 people and to set up sewage systems.
Marwan Al-Ghanem, KFAED’s Director General, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Gulf bureau representative of UNICEF, Al-Tayeb Adam, at its headquarters. UNICEF was previously given $3 million by the fund to finance the venture earlier this year. The most recent grant follows on from that.
